Bratislava, Slovakia

Last Tuesday, a group of us decided on a whim to go to Bratislava for the weekend! What a gift! To be able to just leave and travel to a completely new country last minute! We made it an all-out girls weekend complete with brunch, lots of wine, girl talk, and sight-seeing!

The Slovakian food was to die for! Saturday night we went to a cheap pub and had an incredible meal. I got lamb with potato dumplings and bacon! SO GOOD! The city itself is pretty, but you can tell it was part of the Eastern Bloc. They have done a great job of preserving their historic buildings, though!

The Blue Church was a highlight. It was so unique and delicate!

We made brunch as a group Sunday morning! So yummy!

The Bratislava Castle was very interesting, as it had been rebuilt many times. The way it looks now is a result of the 2008 restoration. It was very fun to walk through the castle museum and see some ancient artifacts as well as silver treasures from the time of Maria Theresa.

Crystal chandeliers and lavender lemonade! I had delicious sheep-cheese potato dumplings with bacon! Melt-in-your-mouth, to-die-for food! A beautiful weekend spent with powerful women!
